Portrait of a Mother’s Day

I am so excited to share my first completed Portrait of a Mother’s Day.

A series of snapshots of the every day life of a beautiful mother from kids up to kids down.

For the sake of the series, the mother below is my Wednesday, since that was the day we photographed.

Just a random Wednesday that will now never be forgotten…EVER.

I hope to complete one for each day of the week with a different mother representing each one.

Let me know if you would like to be involved!

I arrived at 6:45am. Just a few short moments before her babies began to stir.

Everything was so still and quiet and then it wasn’t— it was pure joy.

Below are the little moments, the ones, as a mothers of young children, that we would want to hold on to forever. How warm they are when they first wake up, the way they laugh, the sound of their cry, their bedtime routine. One day our memories will give way to age and time and we may only be able to hold onto a glimpse of this precious, but fleeting time when they seemed to grow each time we blinked our eyes.

  1. I can’t say enough about how special you are, Wendy, or about how special this project is. You have such great talent. You are able to take simple things and bring them to life in a profound way. Your words touched me and the video/pictures made me feel God’s love for all of his children.

    • It means a lot to me for you to say that. It is a project that I hope to be able to continue throughout my life. Thanks for being such a wonderful support. I can’t wait to show you the photo book I just printed for her… and a copy for me to showcase!

  2. Love it! My favorite was the nose-picking one. …one of those moments that is funny and cute but not one where you think, “I need to grab my camera! So-and-so is picking his/her nose!”
