Look Closer
What do you see?
Look Deeper
It was fun meeting up with my friend for lunch and taking pictures of her natural beauty.
Of course she was self-conscious of her profile just like practically everyone I have taken pictures of.
Why is that? She is so gorgeous!
Why does there always seem to be something we don’t like about ourselves?
Who set the standard for what a nose or chin should look like?
What are we basing our insecurities on?

Looking Back
Why did you want to participate in #40Faces?
I thought it’d be fun to try something new.
What were your feelings and thoughts while I was taking your pictures?
I was a little nervous. I was hoping that I wasn’t trying too hard to be natural.
What were your first and honest thoughts when you saw your pictures for the first time? After looking at them for a while? Now?
I said to my self “Wow this is how I look without mascara. I got use to the pics and I like them.
Before #40Faces what was your perception of beauty? What did you think of yourself?
Beauty to me is how a person is from the inside.
I had compliments from my sis and friends. I realize that beauty is being natural..no make up, just me.
What was your favorite post in the series, other than your own, why?
I liked Cindy’s pictures. She has a sweet and innocent smile
My favorite one is probably the last one, it’s a very natural smile. She’s not totally profile or looking right at you, but you can gather so many of the details from this perspective. I have a thing for lines around the eyes, and I love the way she gets them around those almond shaped eyes when she smiles. Her face has so much personality and sweetness!
